Pulpit Etiquette and Common Lessons

This Is Designed To Help Settle You In The Pulpit.

Pulpit Manners

  • When sitting in the pulpit, men and women should never cross their legs above the ankles.  Women sitting in the pulpit should use something (large handkerchief) to cover their legs from the knees down to their ankles.

  • Stay alert and always pay attention to who ever is speaking. When your time comes, you will want the same courtesy.

  •  Turn off cell phones and/or pagers in the pulpit; remember in most cases you are sitting in front of the entire congregation.

  •  Takes plenty of notes, they may turn into your next sermon.
